Cahal is Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Private ILS at Twelve Securis. He has held a range of analytical roles in the company at the transaction and portfolio level, previously leading the analytics team. Cahal has more recently been responsible for Private ILS origination in London, with a focus on the sourcing and underwriting of retrocession, quota share and ILW transactions.

Cahal is a member of the Twelve Securis Investment Oversight Committee, View of Risk Committee and Investment Tech Committee, as well as both the Private ILS and Cat Bond Investment Committees.

Prior to joining Securis in September 2013, Cahal worked for Willis as a Senior Consultant, advising clients on catastrophic risk and structuring natural catastrophe and weather-related insurance products. Prior to that, he spent three years at RMS within their Capital Markets advisory group, where he helped develop their ILS portfolio management software (Miu), structured a number of catastrophe bonds, and advised clients on pricing and portfolio optimisation. Cahal started his career as a Structural Engineer in 2007 at Ove Arup and Partners.

Cahal holds an MEng (Hons) in Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
